After completing this help guide, you’ll be able to:

  • View International Transfers for your club (Going out).
  • Approve request for outgoing International Transfers.
  • View International Transfers for your club (Coming In).

International Transfers (ITC) refer to the transfer of players between clubs to and from New Zealand. ITCs are done in accordance with the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (RSTP). For more information on ITCs, check out the Registrations & Transfers page on the NZ Football website.

As a club you will be required to check COMET at regular intervals of at least seven (7) days, paying attention in particular to players departing your club. With that in mind, lets have a look at how you can view all ITCs for players either arriving or departing your club.

There are three main status' of ITC's that you should be aware of:

  1. ENTERED (INT) - This status means that an ITC request you have made for an arriving player has been entered into the system by your Federation and will soon be requested to their previous Member Association(MA). If you have a player that remains in this status longer than a few working days then you should check with your Federation if more information is required for it to be processed.
  2. PENDING (INT) - This status means that an ITC request that you have made for an arriving player has been sent to the players former MA. At this stage NZF if awaiting the response from the former MA so there is no other action to be taken at this end. Any responses to pending requests are completed each day so will be updated to confirmed in the system upon receiving the ITC approval.
  3. REQUEST (INT) - This status means that NZF have received a request for one of your players that is departing and have reflected the request in COMET. If you see this status then you are required to terminate the player from your club. See the terminate player registration Footy Tip HERE for help to action this. This will need to be done within 7 days or it will be automatically cleared.

There are three ways to view players that are involved in the ITC

  • Firstly, all club referents should receive an email when there is an International Transfer request for one of your players.

Note: You should still check the system regularly even if you do not receive an email

  • The next way to view ITC requests is using the International Transfer console in Comet.
  • Once logged in, select Players from the left hand menu.
  • Select International transfers.

  • From here you will see a list of all players involved in an International Transfer.
  • If you need to action a REQUEST (INT) for a player then you can click into their profile directly from here.

Note: Once a player's ITC has been approved and their status has changed from PENDING (INT) to Confirmed then you will no longer see the player in this console. To check the player is confirmed and eligible to play just search for their record and check they have a confirmed registration with your club on their dashboard.

  • Finally, you can also report on all ITC's.
  • Once logged in, select Reports & Statistics from the left hand menu.
  • Select Clubs & Players.

  • To see any players departing, in the report search bar search for and select the List of Departures by Club report.

  • Adjust the Registration Status of Player field to be REQUEST(INT).
  • In the Date field, use the boxes to indicate the period that you wish to check for international transfers.
    • It is recommended that you check for the current month e.g. 01/01/2019 – 31/01/2019
  • Select Run Report.

You will presented with all the players that are departing your club as an international transfer. You can export this list using the export options available, such as a CSV or excel.

Done! Now that we know how to view outgoing ITCs and process them, lets take a look at how to view ITCs that are coming into your club.

  • Once logged in select Reports & Statistics from the left hand menu.
  • Select Clubs & Players.
  • Use the report search bar to find and select the List of Players Registrations report.

  • In the Registration status of Player select ENTERED(INT) or PENDING (INT).
  • Use the Date fields to specify the period that you wish to check for incoming ITCs.
    • It is recommended that the starting period (box on the left) be at least one month prior to the current month – this ensures that the report picks up any ITCs that take longer than 30 days to process i.e. minor applications.
  • Select Run Report

You will presented with all the players that are coming into your club as an international transfer. You can export this list using the export options available, such as a CSV or excel.
